Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years industry experience, with the ability to fulfil a number of key responsibilities and tasks, which include:
- Reviewing, auditing and benchmarking existing customer infrastructure and solution sets
- Evaluating customer requirements, formulate and architect customer solutions
- Preparing and providing quotes/proposals for customers, ensuring solutions meet or exceed customer expectation
- Planning, managing and implementing customer ICT solutions
- Provide technical support to customers on installations, usage or maintenance of ICT systems to ensure that the system is functioning in accordance to specifications
- Responding to customer inquiries, and providing immediate customer assistance for emergency/URGENT fixes as defined in service definition.
- Creating temporary “work-around” for immediate customer issues where appropriate.
- Documenting and logging all customer service requests
- Using a lab to simulate customer environment and issues (where necessary)
- Resolve escalated issues at Level 3
- Facilitating the resolution of customer issues through to completion,ensuring customer satisfaction has been achieved.
- Managing customer expectations.
- Assisting in the creation of technical documentation and training materials where required
- Providing work direction, problem resolution, and training to other technical support personnel
- Assisting the sales team by answering questions, as well as providing technical guidance and support
- Involvement in customer and company focus groups and planning
- Onsite support on customer locations
- Additional responsibilities as required
- Extended hours or weekend work may be required
Essential Functions/Job Skill Requirements

Essential Functions/Job Skill Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years industry experience. To be successful in this role you will need to have a sound technical knowledge of networks and associated server infrastructure, as well as the ability to manage and administer customer LAN/server environments.
You will support the Managed Services team by providing back of house support for tickets generated through event triggers and customer service requests. You will also be required to monitor and support for customer back-up solutions ensuring customer infrastructure is recoverable based on agreed retention cycles.
You may also be required to provide support for critical failures for customer environments and have skills to manage service failures through to resolution – this will include management of customer expectations.
You should have excellent communication skills, and present professionally. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have a proven track record of successful systems infrastructure management. It is essential that you have experience with cloud based solutions and solution deployments, as well as relevant experience and certification with the following technologies:
- Windows Server (including SQL, Exchange and DFS)
- VMware
- HyperV
- Office 365
- VeeaM
You will also have significant knowledge and be proficient in the following:
- Back up and back up technologies
- Switching and Routing
- Cloud services and cloud migrations (Azure/AWS)
- Wireless solutions
- Security device management
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience with AWS and Azure
- Knowledge and experience in ITIL
- Experience with ConnectWise & LabTech

About the role:
Thanks to the pace of our business growth, we’re able to provide an exciting opportunity as a Business Development Manager (BDM) based out of Sydney. As a BDM, you’ll be responsible for finding new customer acquisitions for the purpose of sustainable growth, profitability, and maintaining the competitiveness of Rubicon 8’s technology solutions. Job Responsibilities:
- Reaching revenue, sales and NPS targets by consultative selling to Telstra Enterprise customers.
- Nurturing close partnerships with the internal Telstra Enterprise sales team, as well as vendor networks so you can deliver complex technical customer solutions together.
- Engaging with Rubicon 8 ICT solutions team to develop customised technology solutions for customer business requirements.
- Highlighting new products and technology solutions to customers and driving commercial business discussions for existing or future needs.
- Writing business proposals, as well as negotiating and presenting to potential customers.
- Attending networking events, conferences, and training courses in NSW or interstate.
Essential Functions/Job Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of Telstra products and services, gained within the telecommunication industry with proven sales achievements.
- Experience in B2B ICT sales.

What you will be responsible for (not limited to)

- Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure and O365 (Intune, Copilot, Autopilot)
- Experience with virtualisation technologies and operating systems like VMware vSphere and HyperV.
- Clear and articulate communication skills.
- High level interpersonal skills, specifically working with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal calmly, positively, and professionally in tense or elevated situations and with upset or frustrated customers.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, obtain results, provide solutions for a broad range of technical problems.
